this was taken from a 98 rb5 i tried the ecu on my MY00 and it made a noticeable difference midrange but the car wouldnt idle properly so i took it off again and have since sold the car(not cos of the idle problem lol)
anyone who knows about ecu's will probably sort this out very simply but i dont so im open to offers on them and really want to sell them together.

possibly interested ... but am confused as a MY98 ecu wouldnt fit a MY00 -as the plugs are different - unless an RB5 has a MY99 wiring loom ????
can you shed any light on it ?

it should, for a '98 have 3 yellow connectors on it...

The RB5 was a my99 car, so will therefore fit 99's an 00's!!!

Like i say though when i put it on the car it wouldnt idle properly in case anybody reads my first post and misses that bit through sheer excitement of finding such a bargain(i dont want any phone calls after saying "my car wont tick over with it on")

 

There will be nothing wrong with the ECU, by swapping them, you will have reset it and probably revealed a faulty MAF.

Worth a few £ given that

As i recall the general feeling in your earlier thread in Gen Tech (?), was that it wasn't MAF or O2 related, did anyone shed any light in the end. No bl00dy search....

 

your right MB it did exactly that but after replacing the MAF it was still the same so i rang prodrive and they said the only way to test it would be to try it on another MY00 to see if it was my car or the ecu.if you check my earlier posts it may show the original thread where we all discussed it and that was the end result, try a differen car but never have so to be fair it may well work fine but i dont want to sell it as a perfect ecu when i know it didnt work perfect on mine.
