any classics with wide wheels

looking for some ideas of wide wheels 9.5 ect on a classic, anyone running them

prodriverules 26 October 2012 11:26 PM

9.5J is for wide arch conversions only mate, you would never fit them under normal arches

g7prs 26 October 2012 11:40 PM

Anything over 8 inch wide and your going to be needing arch work and coilovers I would think.

powerwrx 27 October 2012 02:34 PM

ok..so 8" wide pics would be nice to see.. i wouldnt mind a wider look (wheel wise) on my RA. my wheels are 7.5", would i be able to fit spacers to widen them out?

I dont think my tyres helped either as they are a 45 profile and the sidewall is quite big, if you went slightly higher offset say ET45 and a 40 profile tyre you would probably just need to roll the arches :thumb:

cheers mate

We are currently building a Classic race car that will be running 9.5's and this will give you an idea to the work involved for clearance mate.

Thanks mate, when i bought the wheels they came as a package with budget tyres which buffed slightly for some reason. i rolled the rear arches up a few mm,s but when i changed the tyres there was loads of clearance... the cheap tyres although the same size had wider side walls for some reason so in reality the arches didnt need rolled!
