with supporting mods new age sti?

FP Green is not the best option, they're so fragile and too dangerous in my view and don't do what claim, usually 430bhp with supported mods(with meth little bit more)

If you could find used MD321T i would buy this or used AFP 20G,they're are superior turbos off course SC46 billet is next step which will be hard to find used one.

Here is few threads about the FP Green

What are you aiming at. I run my 2.0 STi bugeye at 440 bhp on scoobyclinics rollers with a FP green turbo. Spec is GEMS ECU, 650cc injectors, APS FMIC, APS 3.5" decat exhaust (was making 415 ish with a APS 3" catted system) Aeromotive FPR, Fuel pump off lateral site between a 255 lph and the Bosch pump, RCM headers, APS parallel fuel setup and APS aluminium intake pipe with induction kit.

Jura have you used one??

Mine has been on 2 years and runs a treat, I suppose you can get a bad one just like when people thought "FORD" meant Fix Or Repair Daily! but due to the number sold in reality it was only a small percentage that had problems.

Wouldn't buy an early FP Green, no chance !!! :(

I know from experience how this turbo performs so don't need to ask others. From reading a lot of threads on here and other forums there is a lot of, because this happend to one person it will happen to others. I have NEVER disconected any sensor to stop the engine firing having done a oil change, yes I pre-fill the filters just like I do on some much bigger engines that I have to work on, we never prevent them from firing and some of these are 4 feet high from sump to rocker gear. Every second filter change I use a flushing oil to remove and muck from the engine. I am currently running 440 bhp at 104K miles on the original engine.

Is the green a 76mm inlet?

360ste 08 August 2011 11:53 PM

Mine is.

Out there are two 3"(76mm) or 2.5"(63mm),2.5" is better suited for 2.0L,3" is suited for 2.5L

Agree with your points, but still have high failures against MD321 series.yes you are one from few people which i know, which are used FP Green and they're still OK..

I'm not against the this turbo, but i know one guy with EVO,which recently FP turbo has blown.

thanks for the input guys, yeah goal at the moment is just somewhere in the region of 380 to 410 stil running timc at the moment but that will probably change, after the turbo swap and initial map from duncan, also running 2002 sti, very strong engine, was already planning on a 20g but have been let down with it from the seller as he smashed his car or something not the guys fault.

Hi Grant

Depends on condition, mileage of this turbo.Your engine this bhp will take without the problem.
20G will be mine choice if i will be looking at 380-410bhp

Hi Grant

what your budget on turbo?
Yes possibly find 20G,best bet or MD31H will be mine second choice for nice 400bhp,MD321T will be too nice option for your car.

Jura

budget is the problem at the min, if it was'int the md321H would be mt first choice then the t then 20g lol, i could wait a little longer and hold out for a used md321 but if your not on the day it's advertised it's gone lol, at least you get a chance with the 20g's when they come on. if you know anyone pm me.

I may have something right up your street.
We have in stock a GT30 based hybrid which has the new Turbo Dynamics Billet compressor wheel.
It will come with a 12 month warranty from the date of sale and is good for 400-450bhp fuel and boost dependant.
This turbo costs in excess of £1300 normally and I am looking for £995 inc vat for a quick sale.
If it is of interest to you, feel free to give us a call.

my car has fpgreen turbo on 2.5 no problem v good turbo,i found this turbo better than md321s,which i also had on same car same block.this turbo was giving me same torque as bhp which was brill.the md321s gave me spool then punch of power later.when this fpgreen was both together early stage top turbo...

Sleiper STI 09 August 2011 06:05 PM

md321h grant mines is a joy to drive so if you can find second hand i would recommend, did you get gareth about his?

This is what I had to say 12 months ago :

This is not just my experience but that of other users such as Paul Armin/Iddy, Dynamix and others.

These turbos are OK to around 1.8 bar or marginally more but I would not run at 2 bar. In terms of performance on a 2 litre I would place them above my TD05 20G or MD321H but below an SC46 and MD321T. That is also reflected in the pricing so please compare apples with apples. My 2 litre 20G is £850 with 12 month warranty.

My experience in the last 12 months only reinforces the view above. I must highlight that the problem with the FP Green(or red) is Forced Performance themselves. I went to the trouble to communicate with their CEO (well he claimed to be the CEO, some birk called Robert) on several occassions but that was a pure waste of time.
