Well it's either a 'normal' STI 3 or a V limited speak to a guy on called 'GC8' as he does know a thing or 2 about the classic shaped impreza.
Although i do beleive the V limited came with a blue inserts on the seats and blue carpeting |
mine has the 555 seats plus the badge statng its number 437-555 on the boot guess they must have been added at some point
|
Aplied number is a version III STi :D
STi Version III V-limited has a roof vent (although not based on the RA), and the glass is tinted a pale green (as well as the badge with number) :) Shaun |
thats also why i thought mine was v limited as it has the roof vent and the badge stating v limited 437 -555 so i guessing it is a v limited are there any other differances with the v limited ???
|
sorry if made it confusing with my earlier post but it states v limited 437 of 555 not 555and the seats say sti 1996 world rally manufactures champions if this helps
|
also did they make only 555 v limited cars aswell then ?
|
Subaru usually make a v-limted model if they win something LOL The V stands for Victory !!
AFAIK they made 555 (not sure if they had a number 13) STi Version III v-limited cars, of which yours would appear to be the 437th :) The roof vent sets it aside from the STi which had no limit on production.. Shaun |
so we are taking it that its a v limited how do they compare on a valuation to a 555 as there were the same amount made im not fussed really as am more than happy with the car but would just like to know as its a added bonus i guess are they as desirable as the 555 ? or is the 555 the better car as believe it has the better engine/block
|
Which "555" car are you thinking about ??
Shaun |
the early 555 cars ver 2 sti apparently have a closed deck block which from reading is better but may be way of the mark in my line of thinking.what would a average guide price be for my car v limited with 100k approx 70k as some done in km just want to know ive not been done lol

Scoobypedia info on STi-3 / STi-3 V-limited:
1996. 8 : Impreza WRX & Impreza WRX STi−3 [ Type-D ] The BOXER-MASTER4 EJ20 engine was improved. The engine used molybdenum coating low-friction pistons, multi-point injection system, IHI RHF5HB turbine, and large size intercooler. And there was a mild facelift for the WRX with new front and rear bumpers, new headlight and taillight design and a new grille. And added the SRS airbag. As for WRX STi type-RA, braking performance was improved by using 16 inches 4-pot caliper at the front and 15 inches 2-pot caliper at the rear. Horsepower 280ps/6500rpm torque 33.5kg-m/4000rpm (WRX, WRX-typeRA) Horsepower 240ps/6000rpm torque 31.0kg-m/3000rpm (wagon) Horsepower 280ps/6500rpm torque 35.0kg-m/4000rpm(STi version) 1997.01 : STi3 V-limited The WRX WRX STi 3 V-limited package included original bucket seats, a WRC champion emblem, carbon meter panel, and limited edition number plate. http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.p...fications#toc3 As a guide to price/desireability: https://www.scoobynet.com/private-fo...v-limited.html I couldn't think of many better ways of spending a spare £3.5K, myself. |
thats good enough for me thanks for taking the time to reply to my thread i know its probably basic knowledge but i have looked and could not get a definate answer but am satisfied its a v limited which im more than happy about so will just get on and enjoy the car and hopfully be posting many more threads with my progress on tuning etc thanks again and will up some more pics overthe weekend weather permiting

Of course, a regular STi v.3 could be 'made' to look like a V-Limited, given a previous owner's will to do so! ;)
I think the only thing that is defo different on the VIN plate between a normal STi v.3 and a V-Limited, is the "Option code"... Weirdly though, the paint code, 53C, is 555 Blue - but that colour was for the v.2 "555" Ltd Edtn... and you have a v.3! Ergo, if you DO have a Ltd Edtn, then it'd be a "V-Limited" (for v.3-6), and the paint code would therefore be 74F, for Sonic Blue! |
see why i was getting confused lookng at the list thats on here but nevermind guess there are exceptions maybe everything seems to point to the v limited having the roof vent numbers etc etc except from the paint colour but i dunno over my head lol
|
Yeah, because the Ltd Edn STi has the roof vent... then that is unique to that car... hence the "Trim code" also being unique. But I can't remember the V-Limited trim code anyway lol
|
v-limiteds were sports blue and not sonic blue. The same colour as the version 2 STi 555 :D

Shaun But I thought the "555 Blue" was a darker shade of blue than the blue on the V-Limited, anyway? :wonder:... Obviously not, then. ;) |
the 555 was based on a version II STi but with mudflaps, roof vent, electra wheels, optional decal plaque and I'm sure it was the same colour as the v-limited's of that era.....I'll check later :D
Shaun Paint codes here .. I'll look through but you might be right :D http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.p...baruPaintCodes |
