!!!HELP!!! WIRING DEFI'S TO PSI3 MONITOR???

Anyone know what connectors I need to wire the Defi sensors to the PSI3 unit?

also how to get the buzzer to work on the monitor?

thanks in advance

anyone lol?

ive looked all over the net and the closest ive come to find is wiring the defi sensors to some of data cable that has a 25 pin female connector ie rs323 data cable that will go into the back of the monitor. anyone shedany light on this or able to tell me how they connected the defi sensors?

thanks

You need a 12 way 3.5mm pitch connector pm me for more details

I will try to dig out the wiring diagram I have somewhere.
There was a post in the technical section here a about 2 months ago IIRC with the same question but I can't find it. Basically you have to connect the 25pin cable with the black wires from the sensors.
Gobbo, have you got a pic of yours?

Edit: I found it :)

But as mentioned by Stara the connections on the diagram are wrong, the correct way is:

Oil temperature: black wire to GND D1/15, black wire to signal D1/12
Oil pressure: black wire to GND D1/14, red wire to +5V D1/5, white wire to signal D1/11

so in other words this is what you need:

1
2
3
4
5 red black to Oil Pressure red
6
7
8
9
10
11 green to Oil Pressure White
12 green white to Oil Temperature signal (black)
13
14 turquoise to Oil Pressure ground (black)
15 white to Oil Temperature ground (black)
...
...
25

Hope it helps.

think gobbo is talking about a connecter for the other models as far as im aware, i need a 25 pin connector of some sort

3rd picture down in this thread, the white/cream connector in the right of the unit is what im after

Edited post above with info you are after :)
The 25 pin connector and cable came with the unit and looks like a standard RS232 connector which I wired to the oil pressure/temp sensors as above.

last bit of help needed them hopefully mission complete!!!

ive come to cut the defi temp sensers wire to wire up but both wires are black, how do i find out which is signal wire and which is ground wire? theres nothing on either to tell the two apart :(

bloomydj 16 April 2010 09:59 AM

I've tried both wires in both ways but I get the same Reading of 50 *C this was with the temp sensor resting on my dash. was wondering would the sensor have to be plumbed into the engine to complete a ground circuit to then be able to give an accurate Reading?

bloomydj 18 April 2010 08:24 PM

anyone have any ideas on the above? today I tried it in a glass of boilled water bit no joy. I also pulled the sensor out of the harness while hooked up to the monitor and it shot straight to 136*C and back to 50*C when I plugged it back in.

any ideas please????
