Don't have any desiel and not sure about the effect on the grass if that's soaked into the soil. I think I'll go for a small amout of petrol so that it has a god chance of vaporising and will hopefully not ruin the soil.

I thought their real purpose was to find food, they only sting you if you annoy them.

Unfortunately Les they are drunk this time of year and sometimes sting because they "think" you have annoyed them (sounds like Cannock on a Friday night) :D :D

Nimbus... you did know that petrol fumes alone would have killed them? so cup of Optimax and a heavy pot over the whole would have sufficed.....not as much fun though.. great read... :D

Ahh just realised the age of the original thread! doh..

The good old days of SN!

Can someone or have they already compiled a SN top ten threads? Just think it would make some great reading.

Loved reading this, reminded me of when my dad named his war with some wasps in the garden as ground zero! Turned out to be an epic fail as he set fire to his shoes and socks and the bloody wasps attacked everyone lol

Leslie 07 June 2012 10:07 AM

Better not annoy them anyway!

Quality thread, just read it all. That made my day. I think that flamethrower contraption needs to be used wherever possible :).

Reminds of my school days doing this round a mates. Think a gallon of petrol, french bangers and air rifles were involved. Lived to tell the tale (just).
