Highly modified 2004 Forester STI project.
Please read the advert carefully. This is my pride and joy and has absorbed every penny of my cash over the last 2.5 years of ownership with carefully selected modifications and development of the car. I love this car, but sadly last Tuesday my Subaru main dealership told me they detected very early stages of head gasket failure. The car drove and still does 100% perfectly, although as I don't wish to cause damage to the engine I have not driven it since I got it home that day.
I have already purchased a replacement car so this is now going to be sold to a Subaru breakers either this week or early next week. I have had a price for trade in which reflects some of the money I have invested in this car, but if someone would like to buy this and fix the head gaskets they will get a truly amazing one-off well known car. This car is known in all of the Forester forums and facebook groups and many of the other Subaru groups. Price to buy is £7k firm, no offers as this reflects my price from the breakers and they will collect hastle free. This price is with the standard FSTI alloys fitted onto the car not the XXR wheels that I may be keeping, with the stereo and tablet now removed, Bluetooth dongle removed & DAMD steering wheel removed, but everything else included. See spec below: Basic Car:
Body Upgrades:
Chassis Upgrades:
Brake Upgrades:
Performance Upgrades:
Other:
Items for negotiation (On top of vehicle price) that have already been removed from the car:
General Servicing:

Stupid mortgage deposit getting in the way of my fun. Sigh.
Good luck with the sale brownpants, I sincerely hope the car goes to a good home and is fixed, not broken into bits. |
Very nice. And very good price. Great buy for someone. |
If I hadn’t already bought mine i’d have had this off you in a heartbeat. Great looking car that’s been looked after. Hope it goes to a good home |
Thanks chaps. Will be gutted when the car goes. The window is closing fast as the breaker will probably collect next week.
Private plate being removed today ready for sale. |
I keep a fully documented log of the costs and expenditure on my vehicles as I own them. So far in the 2.5 years I have owned this vehicle I have spent:
£10k purchase price £8,778.75 on upgraded parts and labour for fitting & mapping of upgrade parts. This figure does not include normal yearly servicing costs at Subaru Main Dealers or MOT costs. As you can see, I have invested a significant amount into this car in the region of £20k now. £7k is a bargain, even with the early signs of head gasket failure. lol. |
if only I had the funds, id have this as a spares back up. good luck mate, hope it sells.
|
Thanks mate.

Have you had a quote for the HG repair? This will help to know what the overall purchase cost might be. If not, would any members venture a guess at what that might be likely to cost?

That said, I priced up a fully forged engine build for this car with one of the very well known builders and the end result would mean a total price still less than standard Forester STI models with standard old engines are being advertised for. The price this car is currently advertised for makes the final car very very reasonable. Please feel free to PM me as I've had Subaru's for 12 years now and know all the names to contact. Thanks. |

Would love to have this if was still looking for a car . Looks great |
Car is now ready for sale or trade to breakers.
XXR wheels removed and original rare FSTI wheels back on the car now (all Bridgestone tyres good), Satnav removed and stereo put back to original (Alpine double din), tablet and ODB dongle removed, DAMD steering wheel removed and replaced with genuine immaculate STI steering wheel, Richbrook gear knob removed and replaced with original STI gear knob. Car also cleaned inside and out. Everything else listed above in the advert is still on the car, it still starts perfectly and drives without fault. The car will be going to a breakers this week if nobody buys it. Thanks for looking. Andy |
