Photobucket! Bleeming scammers

The idiots have started to charge now to share pics on 3rd party sites!
So now all my pics that I shared via photobucket on here are now censored :o
I stopped using it a while ago now since I can just upload from iPad but all the pics prior to that are gone.
Now I wouldn't mind having them to look at on my progress and to check what I've done and not done, but with no pics I'm lost!
I can still access pics but it took a lot of time to have them organised in stages.
Only option is to pay or feck it?

From photobucket blog

"....4. Are my pictures still safe?

Yes! All your photos are still available by logging into your Photobucket
Account. Photobucket has only restricted the ability to view your photos on
3rd party sites.

5. Can I download my Photos?

Absolutely, at any time. It is an easy four step process:

Step 1. Login to your Photobucket Account

Step 2. Navigate to your library page

Step 3. View a photo and click the download button

Step 4. The picture will be saved to your computer....."

Thanks for link, I must of missed it.
That's going to be a lot of work copying all old pics and replacing them back in the order, how do I do that when I can't even see what pics went with each post.
Ffs!
I hope they go out of business as no one is going to pay $399 a year supscription just to keep forum pics up!

bustaMOVEs 10 July 2017 10:06 PM

First this site and now everything else just a world of scammers and crap service.
I'm going to have to take my blog/thread elsewhere,
My thread was good for me to know where I'm at, luckily I now upload direct from my device now.

albob 10 July 2017 10:14 PM

There has been such a fuss over the change that they may have a re-think

bustaMOVEs 10 July 2017 11:02 PM

I would pay for 1 months subscription just so I can re-sort all pics out then f them off, but it's a annual payment only.
It will take me a week in my spare time to sort it now and figure what pics went where.
They've done it on purpose, if they didn't they would of asked for a more appropriate fee.

You dont need to pay to remove your pictures, just download albums, they are zipped files.

Your thread on type-ra.com has all the pics in order Corky. I set the forum up to mirror the pics from Photobucket a few years ago:thumb:

Oh wow, I forgot about that.
Can I save them pictures direct from there and put them back on here for instance?
I'm thinking of making my own blog on FB tbh as it's easily accessible and won't disappear

bustaMOVEs 11 July 2017 08:52 PM

Dean, I've made a blog page, I've tried copying pics from there to load/paste but I can paste them elsewhere, just says same thing as here? On Ra.com I can't save them pics either to my iPad to add after?
Any ideas please?

I've downloaded my album, where is it? Says I'll get a email when done, does that mean it will take ages?

albob 11 July 2017 11:30 PM

You can download them from the forum same as any other images. Right click on a desktop device, on iPhone it's a long tap on the image & option to save to device. I guess that's the same on iPad.

You'll see the image URL as:
http://www.type-ra.com/subaru-forum/...8d2-jpg.46882/

This way you can see the images are mirrored from Photobucket.

Ok thanks I'll have another try, I did hold and tap but only copy was an option and not save.
I've been screenshoting instead for now

It's a bit harsh calling them scammers...

Each picture shown anywhere will cost an amount of money to display (bandwidth etc), and if they're displayed on a 3rd party web site, photobucket get none of the potential ad revenue, just the costs.

surprised it's lasted this long tbh

Agreed.
Hosting costs & sharing costs more without the revenue.
I think they've dropped the ball on the 3rd party sharing, but glad I mirrored when I did:)

pimmo2000 27 July 2017 06:36 AM

it's the amount though ..

gc8simon 27 July 2017 07:10 AM

I use flickr for my uploads and have had no issue's, but i'm sure they will be next.

Found this temporary fix for chrome users on the TT forum, might help you load them onto something else.
