Default Mitsubishi Evo 9 FQ-320

I know MLR might be a better place to ask but after 12 yrs of owning a Subaru I'm thinking about a change.Seen this on Autotrader and was just wondering what the Guys/Gals of Scoobynet thought.

I've got other marques in mind BMW,Audi etc

Evo's are boring, you will have more fun in a Black Edition S3

From that I assume you've owned one?
My son went from an STi (admittedly with just PPP) to an EVO IX FQ320 and reckoned the EVO to be far superior in almost all departments. There are a few things that are better in the Subaru but performance wasn't one of them! I was quite impressed when I drove it.

Check everywhere for rust and then check again!

My Evo had a rot issue that was covered with underseal, be very wary if its been freshly undersealed.

Mine was a 6 but 8's and 9's have been known to suffer badly too.

I sold my 55 plate 9 FQ340 with 25000 miles for £14.5k in spring 2009, so I think this is expensive.

Awesome car in every way except I couldn't get the exhaust quiet and flowing well. Cheap to run and fix for what it was. Amazing engine and chassis after Subaru and M3.

Looks played with, but no mention of it in the ad. Also the bolster looks a bit cracked for a 50k car, and no pictures of the seats face on. Does look a bit pricey too.

The black box above the headunit is a HKS boost controller, you will enjoy it for a month and then wish you kept the subaru

i remember the top gear head to head with an Evo and a STI (Blob)

and basically Clarkson came to the conclusion that "yes, on a lot of measures the Evo was a 'better' car", but when it came to the end of the photo shoot/test day and you had to pick a car to drive home in

the scooby won every single time (without hesitation)

About 2k too expensive in my opinion, I'd be looking for a 50k miles EVO X for this kind of money.

Dont get me wrong, handling is good BUT... the power delivery! You know your going fast but you just cant feel it, its not aggressive like a STi. I wouldn't bother with a GSR 8, your better of with a 9, mivec engine spools well, specially if its mapped properly
