Default BMW front tyres

Would you put a cheap brand on the front of a bmw if it had a euro B rating for wet grip? I have just put two new 275/19 Goodyear asymmetric 2's on the rear and they cost a fortune but upon fitting those I was told the fronts needed changing I'm not paying the same price again for the fronts as that will be £1k on tyres so was looking at a budget tyre for the front

These are the ones I was considering fitting, I would of just put some part worn Goodyears on the car but they ask over £100 per tyre for a descent make tyre with say 5-6mm of tread which doesn't exactly make them worth buying

Dont know about the tyres you mention but if they are budgets, id rarther put part worns on than new budgets as id reckon the part worn would last dame same time or longer due to different rubber compounds

I don't care about tread wear as I don't do many miles a year in a car. I'm more bothered about grip levels.

I still have the same Goodyear f1's on my impreza and I bought those 6 years ago and they still have loads of tread left due to little use

I wouldn't touch part worn tyres with a really long barge pole. Of the 4 part worns I've had in my life, 2 have suffered blow outs!
You just don't know the history of them!

Are the tyres you are looking for the same size as in the link?

Personally I would want to stay with the same rubber all round - budgets on the front = budgets on the back or expensive on the back = expensive on the front. Just seems right in my head. I'm sure it will be fine though.

I understand that but the driven rears have the best tyres I could find so I'm hoping good grip tyres on the front will do?

The rubber would not of been the same anyways as the fronts have Hankook ventus on.
I will probably change to the same tyres later in the year but at this moment in time its doubtfull, luckily I'm still running the 17's for the winter.

I didn't pay this but these are the rears so paying virtually that for fronts will kill me more than the car

They are ferociously expensive!
Yes, you will want the best tyres on the back if you can't afford the same for the front.

I must admit, even I wouldn't have though they would be that much. May be £200 a corner max.

Serves you right for buying a BMW!
No wonder most on BM's the road these days are lease cars. Nobody can afford the tyres!

Get a quote off Funky Tyres who are traders on here. They beat Camskill by £5 a tyre on 225 40 18 Goodyear Eagle F1. I doubt you'll find anyone cheaper anywhere.

BM fronts are normally smaller and cheaper. The fronts on mine are nearly £100 cheaper than the reats, so would get a definite price and not assume they are the same.

I think I may just drive on the 17's for a bit more over the winter and change the fronts to Goodyears in a month or so when I'm not so pissed about paying for the rears.

Have you tried lovetyres? They have been consistently cheap for me over the past few years.
I've just bought two front Assymetric 2's for mine-235/35/19 and they couldn't be beaten at £286.34 including postage.
My previous rears-265/30/19s were 382.26 per pair delivered
They've your size of 275/30/19 at £356.46 plus £8 p and p-that's also for the pair.
