53.3mpg is that at 50mph because it wont be at 75, thats for sure
Think if you knock about 15mpg off that figure its going to be more accurate but it does look good

I reckon Sytner will pre order a few with little in the way of options, so at a guess around £45-47k.
Add in a decent spec and it'll be north of £53k.
Still only a two year warranty as standard, and that isn't good on a car of this premium.

Well if a 3.0 single turbo in a 2 ton F07 does 40mpg at 80mph, then maybe 50mpg in the lighter F30 chassis is do-able.
Remember these 8speed autos only churn about 1500 rpm at motorway speeds - low revs = more economy.
Anyhoo....give me call when they finally fit a decent BMW with X-drive like they do in the rest of Europe. Only then will I be interested.

4WD in a 3 series would be wrong, I'd only get RWD but I can see the appeal of it.

I stand corrected...I got mixed up with the 335i/135i petrol engine which is what I'm really after. Plus I'd want it with a conventional manual gearbox for my own amusement.
I drive too hard in the wet these days for 2WD. And the weather and roads round here is far too wet and poor for me to even consider it anymore let alone make do and live with it. Everytime I jump in the F07 and need to pull away onto the fast and very busy dual carriage way I'm reminded that it simply just cannot put the power down confidentaly in the first 3 gears without having to back off the power...and that "only" has 250bhp to contend with and is just driving in a straight line (albeit slighty sideways ).
I'm then reminded of my Monaro which was just joke in anything slightly damp. Quite simply I've grown out of RWD, its fine for me for a weekend car, but I really do need the AWD for everyday.
Ironically I'm not bothered one iota about MPG. Where most people are, with the exception on my regular drives to and from spain, which is what the F07 is primarily used for (it was cheaper than a 520d estate of the similar age and lower spec).

F07?
I thought I'd find our 335d a handful in the wet but I find it a hoot to drive. Yep you can easily get the back end doing daft things but with some restraint, it's a ***** cat. But if you're in the mood and the family aren't around, it's just a lot of fun; I find myself breaking traction all over the place just for a laugh, knowing it's all controllable, very "pointy" and a lot of fun.
Anyway cars with MUCH more power and torque are RWD so it can't be all that bad.

'Ere ya go.
I wasn't far off with the pricing, although you'll have to convert into GBP as the list is still in €'s

Nice to see they've stuck with 19's (for the German market at least, no doubt here too)
