Almera 1999. Rear screen washer u/s.
Another little problem with my 1999 Almera 5 door.
The rear screen washer pump does not work. Jets are clear as I can blow through the tube, little inline filter/return valve is OK, all fuses are OK, front washers work fine, so it must be the pump that is at fault. As the front screen washes fine I assume there must be two pumps.
That is all the easy bit. The washer bottle is tucked away between the wheel arch and the wing, only the filler neck exposed. How do I get access to the pump ?
I can only see it being possible from the wheel arch somehow. I can then try cleaning the contacts or resort to a new pump.
Does anyone know how ?
Cheers

I don't think that is the problem as I can blow down the tube from the hatch and make bubbles !!! in the water tank. Front works fine. Rear is silent, nothing, but I can't see how to access it to change the pump/pumps.

Washer bottles normally have a screw or 2 and a locating lug. I had to access my mothers via wheel arch. One pump was blocked the other was fine. Front and rear will have separate pumps, these normally press in or out via a rubber grommet

Just one detail left.... how do you access them from the wheel arch, some sort of 'inspection cover' to remove ? The arch liner seems well fixed in.

I give up !!!
Two hours yesterday trying to get the piece of trim off that is part of the inner arch trim and goes under the washer bottle. Bolts from wheel side came out easy as did the screw under the front lip but as for the others that seem to come through from the engine bay side ... no way..!! No socket seems to fit, can't see them to find out if they are bolts or plastic lugs, feel like bolts.
Off to the garage at some point and they can do it.
