Have I Been Done? Corsa 04 MOT Fail
Hi guys, looking for people with mechanical knowledge really.
My missus has a 1.2 corsa 2004.
Failed mot on -
Handbrake cable
2 tyres
Coil springs
Brake pipes & front pads
Wheel cylinder?
Steering rack
2 wiper blades.
How much roughly would this cost including labour?

Sorry mate, work has been done. Was quoted between 200- 250 for it to be complete which sounds about right to me although I don't claim to have any knowledge on these things!
Bill came in at £538.38

Sound like a quote from a certain vauxhall dealer in Bolton which tried that on my ex, tried charging diagnostic fees on top of original diagnostic fee when orginal fix and parts did not fix the problem ! I'm still banned from that dealership after I told mechanic what I though of his skills and charging and took the car on a trailer to another garage and got it fixed for £60 !
TBH without know exactly what it failed on its a bit tricky, but was the £200 to £250 for the parts only ?

Hi bud, no I have used the garage a few times before and they have never done anything like this. Usually pretty accurate with their estimates. Not 300+ over!

Have a look at the breakdown of parts/labour etc
to be honest, £250 for all of that sounds very cheap to me
The second figure of £540 sounds about right with the parts & labour
Did you question why it was much more?

Hi guys, well it may well have been a labour only quote if its about ok, they have never given me a quote and been more than £50ish either way. Just had a heart attack when that bill arrived! No problems if it looks ok, thanks for having a look
