Default Lexus is200 issue

My mates just got his is200 back on the road
Has an issue with driving it revs lovely right up to the redline
Just couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding. It's manual aswell I was thinking clutch is on its way out but just don't feel like clutch slip
Any ideas?

Yes can be the clutch, I had one for a few years and the bloke I sold it to said the clutch was on it's way out 6 months after I sold it him, but was fine when i had it, should pull all the way to 150mph and sit there with no worries, I did 1100 miles in 14hrs in mine, they don't hang about once they get going.
