Jaguar X type
I've seen a 2003, 2.1 V6, 125k miles, manual for sale for £1500. Might be able to get it a bit cheaper as it's cloth and no road tax.
I have to admit, I do like the look of the X type and they seem like Mondeo/Vectra money but with a bit more class and look better IMO.
What are they like to live with?

My brother in law had a 2.5 as well. Never did anything other than what it was supposed to. A really good car by all accounts. Its a shame the 3.0l are so expensive to run otherwise I would have bought one instead of my Mercedes I currently have.

Thanks.
Looking at the mpg, the 2.1 doesn't seem that much better than either the 2.5/3.0 which look the same. Still not sure whether to go and have a proper look at it. The electrics look like they can be a nightmare.
I only need something to tide me by until I get something decent bought as I don't have a car at the moment. It's been for sale for a while and I don't really want to buy something where I'll lose half it's value come the time to sell it.
