Question small commuter car

I'm in need of a small, cheap, very economical and reliable runabout as one impreza is'nt in the correct country and the others in use too! my budget is £2000 maximum.

I'm currently thinking of the:

Honda Jazz 1.4i-DSI
Toyota Aygo/Citroen C1

I'll be using it to go a small distance everyday, about an hours drive mostly on country roads.

does anyone have any suggestions along with what to look out for etc?

would be greatly appreciated

Sunny

My Mrs had an Aygo - great little car, ran it for 18 months and sold it for £200 less that what we bought it for. Very good around town with a solid 50mpg. Good build quality and deceptivly spacious inside apart from the tinyboot

Cheers, an Aygo's certainly on the list but I'll be lucky to get one for 2500.. maybe an 06..

resale values good to know as i'll be selling again in a years time when its not needed. I'm even considering Peugeot 206's or a small engined EP3 civic!
