I remember getting scared silly by a friend in one of these about 15 years ago - he reckoned it had two gearboxes, felt like it was rivetted together...
Certainly went OK - anyone remember the specs?

i used to sell mitsi's in the late eightes and remember the little angled hatchback, 1.6 and possibly 1.8 turbos (or may have been 1.6 turbo then 1.8 when it went to just gti) they were pretty damn quick tho suffered from mega torque steer due to front wheel drive.

I remember them , A mate had one about 14 years ago, they did have 2 gearlevers, I think one was for overdrive, it was like having 10 forward gears and 2 reverse!!!!
They were bloody quick little cars at the time.

It was actually a colt Mirage turbo. think thery were 1.4 then 1.6.
my mate had a black one, quite nippy!
My brother Had a Mitsi lancer turbo, now that felt feckin quick!
2.0 170 bhp thro the rear wheels. dont know how much either the mirage or the lancer weighed but the power to weight ratio must of been good!
i believe the Lancer was the fastest 2.0 production saloon around in 1981.

i can remember going to look at a lancer turbo in the mitsi dealer back in about 1980, always fancied one, remember the turbo sticker back to front on the front spoiler so you could read it in your mirror if it was behind you

Sorry Jack - still a later model to the one I used to nearly die in...
The model I recall looked a little like the AMC Pacer, if that means anything.

Nope its earlier than that!
the one on pic is a is from 83/84 onwards.
The Mirage Turbo is like a shrunken down Pacer like Ian said.
Quite angular and very short with 15 inch rims.
Yep thats the Lancer, the one with turbo 2000 on the front spoiler!
