It isn't mpg it's gallons per mile.
The performance is stonking but as with all these sort of things, it still has the running costs of its original price tag so going to be a fortune to keep on the road.

That's actually quite expensive for what it is.
You can have a CL55 for £13/14K and, if you must, have it tuned at DMS to 600hp for aout £3k. Lighter car than the 65 ... better all round IMO

Also, check out the front tyre pic. Sure there is an egg in it on the O of Dunlop.
F1 is actually right on the merits of this versus a less tricky to look after CL55. The real difference is all top end so You'd only really be able to use it if you lived in Germany and had an autobahn to storm down.

If it's anything like the C63 AMG that I test drove a couple of months ago, the auto gearbox will spoil the drive anyway. Nice car, but too many ***** and buttons, and it took as long to decide which gear to be in as it then took to go from tickover to redline. I actually preferred driving my 330D home

price doesn;t seem that low, 8 years old now, price of high performance german cars ing dropping like a stone with an upward facing jetpack. M5's have done the same, can now get a decent e39 for about 6-7k, 80k's worth of car for 10%

A lot cheaper than buying the car to get the badge.

I've always preferred manual boxes, but since some of the cars I was looking at are only available as autos I figured I should at least give it a go. I was disappointed, though; the C63 always seemed to be in the wrong gear, which stopped me from being able to just relax and enjoy the torque from the (admittedly fantastic) engine.
The brakes were a bit grabby too, so the end result was that I really struggled to achieve the smooth, relaxing drive which is what I want after a hard day in the office.
I drove a flappy paddle S4 a week later which was much better, but I'd still rather have had the manual.

A lot of car for the money but I wouldn't like the running costs.
I also thought this was good value as well

What are you talking about??
The E39 M5 is going to be over ten years old so what did you expect to happen to it's value? Also the E39 M5 never cost anywhere near £80k, even the current F10 M5 doesn't cost £80k.
IIRC the E39 M5 cost less than £50k

Yes, it does. If I remember correctly, the gearbox is a 7 speed auto, and you can select between normal, sport and manual modes using a fiddly little button down by the select lever. You can put it in manual any time by pulling one of the paddles, but to change it back to auto again afterwards you have to find this little button. I seemed to spend half the test drive looking for it.

But that said sale invoice for mine shows mid 30's and its only a 528i. Can't find a uk sale price. Same principle though, i looked at them a few years ago and they were 11+, so the price has come way down in even that time
