BMW 330D M Sport mapping
Hello... came accross the site whilst looking for info on remapping my 2008 330D M sport and was hoping someone could help me.
I have had a quote from Smart Remaps in Manchester of £199 for Feb only to remap my car to improve performance and economy claiming that I will get an additional 42bhp / 90Nm torque and 15% fuel savings....
How accurate is this and what damage can it do to the car if any in the long run. I tend to do around 30 - 40,000 miles each year and the car is up to 100,000 now so will it cause any damage and will i notice much of a difference?
I can't really afford it right now but for £199 if I get what they claim then I will probably just get it done?
Cheers, Matt

Strange that your first post on a Subaru forum is to ask about a BMW diesel.
This should help.

My 335d was mapped by Simon too-top bloke!
Do your research as a tuning box may suit your needs?
Try Bmwland or one of the other specific forums-probably better for more specific advice!

I got a Bluefin map for my 330d a couple of years back and its been great. Power up from 231bhp to 275bhp and even more torque! Makes it a very fast car, but does tend to struggle getting the power down however - dropping to 5th on a wet motorway I've had the traction control light flash going over the white lines when accelerating and changing lane.
The main reason I went for that map is that you can remove the map easily and revert to standard for when you sell the car (comes with a unit that you plug in which stores the new/old map).
They are fairly expensive however at over £400, but I'd be wary of cheap maps unless buying from somewhere with a good rep. I got a A3 2.0 TDi mapped before the 330d, and it introduced flat-spots at certain revs.
