Having naughty thoughts....
Forgive me Porsche, for I may just sin!
Ok, as some of you know my last (brief) excursion with an Exige didn't end well, but I can't stop looking at the new V6 - all 350bhp, 1090kg, and 0-100 in less than 8 seconds....
Man maths may be needed here.

Talking to a chap at classic car show on lotus stand.
seems a popular conversion(one he does) on older exige is to drop a VW /Audi 1.8T bored out to 1.9
400+ bhp.Some floating around with 600+

That's very subjective - seeing as I had an S2 Exige 240S and I'm on my 2nd Porker... they're both very different types of car and do different things.
It's not as easy as just saying one's better than the other.

My Exige was fine on the roads.
Even had enough room in the boot for 2 bags of shopping
Never had chance to go on track with it, but I've been on track in a Spyder.
And friggin' Hell they're good track cars!

Are you fed up of having to explain that to people all the time?
Seriously though, the Lotus is far less bi curious than the Boxster special edition

'Sfunny, but you're the first person that's had to have it explained to them :lol1I
You come across as knowing your cars - you clearly don't

Unless you've driven one...?
Tell me - you've owned a Boxster and an Exige, right?
**** it - I like the Spyder so much I'm going to keep it and order the Exige just as soon as I've had a drive in one.
I've now got a triple garage so at least they can live together.

the mrs has had a boxster, before she had an s1 elise. to be fair it was ok.ive test driven an exige s2 and been in an s1 on track....
i just dont like the look of the s3. the back end looks like an after thought. but as i love all things lotus, i am sure i will love it when i see it in the flesh..
if you love the boxster thats all that matters...

Wasn't having a dig, just curios as to whether you'd driven the new one.
Wouldn't say I love the Spyder (probably preferred my Exige if I'm honest) but it just feels so different to the cooking Boxsters - it's the lightest car Porsche make at the moment and that counts for a lot.
Having the Exige to run along side it would be the best of both worlds I think.
Just something that keeps me going back to looking at Lotus...

Got to find a local dealer with one now!
I have concerns about the extra weight of the v6 swinging about at the back though.
Also, the interior is exactly as the last one - if the build quality is better than before and it drives as well.....
