1987 Mazda RX7..hmmm
I just bought a car for my little brother from an old boy who has a dusty great garage full of cars.. in the background i spotted this 87 mazda rx7 and enquired about it.
It hasn't been run for 5 years but had an mot before it did, i checked the paperwork and its got full service history and only 50K miles. Its dusty but pristine.
Now i dont know too much about these, but do you think if it was running ok the £800 he said he wants for it is a good idea for a second car, project?
Its a non turbo? Any one had any experience with them, are they fun? Are they money pits?! Am i mental?

I drove past one of the new mazdas- the ones with the rotary engines and rear suicide doors, for sale at a garage in leeds.
£3250. now thats a lot of car for buttons.
I assume its coz no one wants the dire fuel consumption ??

try here?
I like these, finding one like this is quite rare i would imagine. You do not see many about.
Likely problems are the usual, brakes & clutch siezed on, tyres fooked, all fluids need replacing battery, the usual. other things to consider are the engine internal and external oil seals which are prone to going. I would not consider running it until you have changed the oil/filer and primed it.
If the interior and bodywork are fine then it could make an interesting project The engines can be expensive to rebuild, lots of smoke is not a good sign and show wear on the rotors and/or the oli seals are fooked.
