Good on Nissan for moving things forward but I cant help feel I'd be extremely pissed had I just forked out £73k for a MY11, they should have left that car to run 2yrs before facelifting again in my opinion. MY11 values should plummet though as the sensible option would be <MY10 to MY12, who wants the car in the middle?
No doubt, yet crazy more performance (Not sure how much tuning potential these new cars are going to have though if all 3 models are using the same blower)

Been in the Datsun showroom today and whilst dropping off my Pathfinder dribbled all over a dark blue GTR which my 6 yr old Son wanted me to buy
Are the gear boxes still considered a consumable part and 15k to replace or was that all an urban myth?!

So you now have the bronze model GTR

Well documented that Nissan would continually develop the car and there would be yearly revisions so i should imagine folk aren't too bothered....tuning potential is still the same as previous models, all that is different is the % gain over stock....

Mostly myth, yanks were breaking gearbox with the original LC, since they changed the LC its just the odd one of the early cars that have suffered solenoid issues (mine was first Euro car to have a gearbox failure )

The Evo was one of the best residuals I've ever had. I lost about £3k a year on that from 6 months to 3 1/2 years old, my M3 on the other hand was dropping about £1k a month. In between each model number change about every 2 years there were a few MR variants, but like on the GTR the changes were evolutionary rather than revolutionary. Any Evo 7-9 are not wildly different to each other as a launch day R35 isn't much different to the later models, and the residuals on neither are bad.

Or wait until the people who must have 'the latest thing' have got it out of their system and then join the party. I've never lost more than £3k a year on a car, new or secondhand.

I was at the Nissan event at Silverstone on Wednesday where Mizuno explained the tweaks on the MY12 engine in detail, but I'll respect the confidentiality he asked us all for. Details will be public next week
Hope to see you on track some time

Jurno. What did you do to the engine?
Nissan. Changed the panel filter. This alone gave us an extra 10bhp.
Jurno. Oh.

Yes but it won't be covered by the warranty if you launch the car ( the same launch control used to set acceleration times for magazines) and will require an IMF bailout to pay for it.
New dilithium crystals will also need to be flown in from the outer rim after every track day
