Default Getting a bit boring here isn't it?

Isn't anybody planning on buying something exciting soon? Since Trouty bought his GT3 RS there doesn't seem to have been much fun on here.

I know I'm hardly one to talk driving a fricking diesel 5 series but where is all the sexy metal?

Well, I'm looking to buy a 147 GTA next year. We can discuss now to fill the gap between decent cars.

I'll be sure to, money will not be an issue for the right car! That engine really is something to behold! Can't wait, even if it cripples me financially.

What happened to LEO-RS?

Has it blown up since it was tuned to within an inch of it's life?

Or has be crashed it only driving fast in a straight line?

They are pretty **** cars to be honest Myles. The chassis can't cope well with 120bhp let alone double that of the GTA. The engine is a great yoke but the rest of the car is a meh, the suspension really lets down the GTA, it really is crap as standard. Eibach Springs and Koni FSD shocks apparently are a good cure.

The problems I've had with my standard 147 is shocking and the GTA seem to suffer with all the same problems but I still am going to get one next year as I just can't think of another car that I can afford that would bring as much enjoyment into my life.

What's the score with Alfas, then? Are they that bad?

I'm looking on PistonHeads now. Say I bought an 08/09 Brera with 30k on the clock for £14k or something now. What would happen over the next few years? Would I be reduced to tears by the depreciation?

I don't think there are any cars out on sale today or in the immediate future that are exciting.....maybe the new jag "sports" car, but having seen it other than a thing of beauty it is utterly pointless and confused!

Don't say that. The 2012 model GT-R is out soon. We'll then be inundated with:-

GT-R V's 911 Turbo, GT3-RS, GT2, GT2-RS.
GT-R V's Chipped TTRS
GT-R V's F458
GT-R V's MP4-12C
GT-R V's planet Earth.

We should count ourselves lucky - petrol was supposed to run out by 1980.

I wouldn't say they are bad cars, they are just not great cars. They offer ordinary car performance at prestige car runnings costs/maintenance levels. You need to be thick as pig shit to own/run one and yes the depreciation will make you vomit.

nice interiors though.

FWIW, I'm looking at a crossroads really - either :

An RS4 Avant

Or

A Volvo V50 D4 R-Design as a daily-snotter and a Ferrari 348TS....

The 2nd option is more appealing as I can use the Volvo for hauling around my keyboards to gigs..... wouldn't be as confident in doing the same thing with the RS4 - especially some of the unsavoury places I've gigged.....
