6.2litre V8 - from £35k
I've always been a fan of American muscle cars, what's your thought on this?

Can't see it selling much. Who can afford to run a 6.2l V8?
Look at how many of the American pick ups and Hummers have suddenly disappeared, they used to be everywhere until petrol went up

I presume so!
I really like the Mustang too but LHD is just a no no for me on a regular basis in the UK.
Maybe there's a car out there that could tempt me away from the STI at some point in the future (or make me nag the Mrs for a double garage )

I think all GM/Chevrolet engines (proper U.S. engines, not the Korean re-branded rubbish) have the cylinder shut down system, so when it's driven normally, it's only using 4 or 6 Cylinders and the full eight fire up when poke it with a stick.

It'd happily do 22mpg round town which was the same as my classic Impreza. I'm currently doing the same commutes in a Golf R32 thats giving me 23mpg....with an engine more or less half the size!
On a run I'd see 28mpg. Which again was as good as Impreza. And 30mpg in the Golf.
Being used to running a Jag 5.3 v12 and Land Rover v8 where neither never returns anything higher than 18mpg I was expecting the worst, but it didn't....its miles better on fuel and it had 120 more bhp than the Jag. Whilst using the same 16 valve pushrod layout as the Rover V8. Just with far far far far far better design and manufacturing quality. It goes to show design and manufacturing tolerances as well as fueling/ignition control are far more important than the number of cams and valves.

They aren't that bad on fuel; I used to have a Monaro VXR withe the LS2 version of this engine (6.0 vs 6.2), and it was remarkably frugal on fuel when compared to other cars of similar performance (considering its cylinder capacity).

I would imagine you would see less than 10 if you boot it and lets be honest, you would want to hear it growl

Nice. I loved the silver SS in the new Hawaii Five-O series. Sounds great too. I must admit I did have a quick look on Autotrader a whilst back and had visions of one in the Bumblebee yellow & black colour scheme with an autobots badge on the bonnet or front grill
