Default Seat Ibiza 1.4 - things to look out for?

As some know I'm selling my old skool Merc and I may have a deal on with a 1999 V-plate Seat Ibiza S 1.4

What are these like and does anyone have experience or knowledge of any common issues. Car's done 80000 miles so below average. Off to see it tomorrow after work.

Ta

They are a wee bit gutless compared to 16v VAG versions but aren't too bad on fuel. Check for rust around the arches and general wear and tear, not much goes wrong with them to be honest.

Cheers. 60bhp from a 1.4na 8v is pants BUT it's a means to do cheap motoring for a while.

Well after quite an interesting test drive I ended up swaping the Luftpanzarwagen for a Peugeot 406 saloon. Nice little 1.8 lx with big boot, much smaller steering wheel and a manual gearbox. Enjoyed Merc ownership and the superior build quality but petrol was a killer.
