Default iPod Aux in - Which cable

Hi

The wife has a new car, its a C-MAX and has an AUX IN which i believe I can connect the iPod to.

Is there a kit available that contains the cable (which cable do i need ?), the cradle etc.

Can we control the iPod from the car controls (increase/decrease volume, change track etc)

Recommendations please ?

Thanks

Looked into this with the old-chap's car.
You need to check that your stereo had the option included.
The cable itself is quite cheap, but it's the gubbins behind it......

A quick chat with your stealer should sort it out.

the original ford cmax radio has 2 types of radio fitted one with a aux button and one with a cddj button.if a aux button is fitted there might be a 3.5mm female jack input in the glove box, if its not fitted to the car it can be retro fitted.the aux in on the car takes the audio from the music device(just like listing with head phones)but gives you no control over the music selection.

You can buy a basic jack lead for less than £1 but you can't control it with the car controls.

For that, as stated, talk to your dealer.

If you will be using an iPhone/pod predominantly,I would seriously consider a Kensington liquid (works well with the ip4).
It basically plugs into the cigarette lighter and into the aux (3.5mm plug socket). This allows the iPhone to be charged whilst playing through the aux socket.
You also get a small remote that can be mounted anywhere (comes in a holder than can be attached to the steering wheel or gear stick).
The remote will operate the iPhone whilst it's nicely hidden within the centre console.
You can also buy the lux version which comes with an iPhone/pod cradle.
Amazon is the cheapest outlet-about £10

Oh and in relation to operating the volume controls- my volume controls on my steering wheel are unaffected-I just select the aux mode on my stereo-job done!
