Quite like the look of this as a replacement for my MY99 Scooby Wagon
Opinions on the mileage, if it's FSH would that mileage make a difference on a performance 1.8l engine?
There're a couple of the lower power modles around the same price but I've been reading up on these cars and they sound good

nice motors, a friend has got one.
mileage is high, my friend paid £3600 for his with 77k and few mods on it with fsh,
the earlier ones 2002-2003 are amk 210 bhp engines
late 2003-2005 are bam engines 225 bhp, there are a few very minor differences to the extras on the models, badges etc ..
both can be remapped to about 270-280 bhp though..

Excellent cars. Buy, buy, buy. Go for the 225bhp though.
If has complete history and receipts then mileage is fine as these engines will do over 200k no probs if looked after.

Ive had 2 now and can't fault them nice smooth power delivery very comfy to drive, not the best handling car but not rubbish either! Go for the 225 theres a few nice touches compared to the 210 . That one seems abit much price wise considering milage. But you wont regret buying one there solid cars

Above all Nice cars and good quality materials in the main.
Apart from the obvious engine checks also check door seals and carpets to make sure no water leaks. Can be quite expensive to get fixed and a common problem on Leons/Toledos. Leather has tendancy to wear on Steering Wheel and gear **** where red shows through underneath and is pretty unsightly.
Check both fans mounted on radiator come on when engine has idled for 10mins or more and check Temp Gauge doesn't get higher than half way - ever! If they don't could have fan problems or burned out fuse which again is expensive fix. Also check one of the radaitor fans fires up when the climate control is switched on and off.
Best bet is to have a look over onto SCN where there's lots of good advice and common problems detailed in the forums.
Good Luck
