Carried on from Jaygsi's bonnet strut thread, at least 4 of us have had or still have Vauxhalls, just interested in who falls into this bracket.
Here are my previous ones.

i dont but one of my good friends has got a Astra VXR, he text me last week some pictures just saying, "Blown engine, cracked piston, turbo ****t3d itself and dumped 5l of oil everywhere and mongled the headgasket, engine is dead.... i win" followed later by also diadnosed as Ben valve and fried the piston rings. Turbo was a warrenty turbo fitted by vauxhall after his last turbo killed itself which was one fitted by vauxhall under warrenty but they left somethign loose which got sucked through it. There now refusing to do anymore work on it. Its a friday car for sure.

Hmmmm well if i count the 2 works vans...
Astra G 2ltr DI (works van)
Astra G 1.7 DI (works van after writing off the 2ltr dodgy tyres they put on )
Vauxhall Omega 2ltr 16v Automatic (P reg), loved that car, cost me 360 quid at auction, 112k and full service history, the 4 new tyres were worth more than the car (dunlop sports), just needed a torque converter (300 quid), it was a fun car, my mate wanted to keep it he loves autos and rwd but sold it for 1200 quid, was in very good condition for its age.
Vauxhall Omega 2.5TD (W reg new shape), last of the BMW engined diesels, auto, leather, 40ish to the gallon, great car for the motorway journeys and easy as hell to drive anywhere and park (considering its size), sold to purchase my next vauxhall!
Astra H 1.9 CDTI 120 (16v) sports hatch, got this one with a mere 16k on the clock from a dealer for 8600 quid, is a Design so better spec than the SRI/SXI etc, half leather, auto lights, auto wipers, still have it with nearly 60k on the clock now, 2 problems and that was a faulty boost solenoid (fixed under warranty) and the ESP warning light is up (ABS Unit fault, not buying new either, scrap yard for the part!)
Otherwise not too bad on the vauxhall ownership side of things
Tony

Before this I had a 2.0 SRI140 Vectra, and now I have an S reg, 1.8 SRI 120, for the work horse.

I had a Nova TD about 15 years ago and with some tweaking it was good for out dragging GTEs/GSIs and the handling was go-kart like. Followed that with a V6 cavalier that ended up in max power about 10 years ago, then traded up to the scoob
A couple of pics of the cav...

Funny,in the eighties there was nothing actually 'chavvy' about Ford's compliment of XR's XR2,XR3 XR4 etc and the same for Vauxhalls GT's GTE's ,SR's and SRI's and Peugots 205 and 309 GTI's.....they were all up there with the Golf GTI
It was a fantastic time for cars

I was on team Vauxhall for some time before finding my first scooby.
Cav SRi - I was 19, hence the body kit, bad I know... 16.0 1/4mile
Calibra Turbo, made just over 300bhp, when it worked. 14.1 1/4mile
V6 Calibra on N2O, liked this car, only quick on gas though, had a nice sound system though. 14.6 1/4mile
Vectrs SRi, boring car, but lots of space inside.
Astra GTE 16v, absolutely awesome motors, spent a bit on handeling, much fun! 15.6 1/4 mile.
AStra 2.2 coupe, had this car for 2 years, very reliable and quite capable. 16.5 1/4mile.
The astra was sold in January, making it the first time I haven`t had a vauxhall in 10 years.

I'm an ex-Vauxhall man, always wanted a Calibra or Cavalier turbo but got a promotion and had enough money for a brand spanking Scoob instead, although I still ponder about the old school Vauxhalls'.
2nd car was a 1.3L Mk2 Astra, had it a year, finished my apprenticeship and got a 2.0l 8v GTE at 19, loved that car and never got tired of the digital dash and recaro style seats, had 68k when I got it and part ex'd it 4.5 years later with 148k and it felt just as quick as it did when I first drove it (probably wasn't).
Fitted a big stereo and the bass sometimes opened the boot, also done a top speed run with a mate once, had the sunroof and front windows open and the rear windows popped open with a loud BANG, scared the cr4p out of us
Crappy scanned picture but it's all I have at the mo, PECO big bore 4 FTW!!
That's my Dad's old Omega in the picture, 2.5 V6 CD with the electric rear window blind (great fun), he had that for 11 years, lovely old barge!

Just looking back through a car mag thought I'd seen something about its name
Says"Because its bosses werent able to sign off the Hethel-developed braking system the new car wasType Approved as Lotus"
I digress. If any lucky sod has had one
(still be a Vauxhall Carlton to me)

Cavalier 1.6L
Cavalier 1.8GLi
Cavalier... there's a theme developing here.... 2.0Sri (8v - the SEH engine, meant to be bullet proof mine had a crack... in the block)
Calibra 2.0i 16v Turbo 4x4 (Diamond Black... lovely colour)
I loved that car - got through 3 engines. Only one of which was my fault.
TXB was faultless, 'cos I took care of it Phase 2 kit with Samco hoses, stainless exhaust and other bits and bobs got it to 280bhp with 290ft/lbs
Had a delightful habit of blowing the bloody hose from the turbo to the FMIC off at full boost. I put the biggest damn clamps I could find and still it came off... grrrr.... I got very expert at whipping the bumper off, loosening the clamps, forcing the hose back on and tightening everything back up.
In the end it just got too expensive to run, but it was a blast while I had it. I wrote a buyers guide for the Cally turbo ages back when I was a Mod on cc.net.
In fact - the Cally turbo was why I first posted on here! Someone was slagging 'em off, I got told by someone who posted on both sites and popped on here to put the record straight.
