Anyone else done the same? Dam, wish i had enough money for both at the same time then i wouldn't have to keep on alternating!

Been back and forth a few times! And had both at the same time too. Was quite funny getting waves from local evo owners in my evo 6 and then I'd see them next day in my impreza and they'd be looking the other way.
When I sold my last evo I told the mrs' "when I decide to sell the impreza and buy another evo in a few months remind me what always happens"
I do fancy a nice evo 8 mr 340 in grey though

had an evo 1 many years ago then a bugeye wrx ppp and now a wrx wagon (for the dogs), not so keen on newer evo's i dont want a car that does half the driving for you with ayc and whatnot, realy dont see that they need all the electrics tbh.

no not driven a newer evo, my evo 1 was running 350 plus bhp and torque and was fantastic to drive and as i am sure you know didn't have any electronics and as far as i am concerned really didn't need any, just my opinion but surely they dont need all these toys?

My own car's a 360bhp Litchfield Type 20 (ie a 2006 Spec C modded by Litchfield, with ASTs etc).
Have had brief shot in an Evo 8 and but it was years ago when they were just out. Pretty much on a straight road too.
Is the AYC basically better than the Scoob's system? Can transfer power left to right when the Scoob just transfers axle to axle?

The misconception is that these "toys" numb the driving experience and collect you **** if it all goes wrong, the reality is that they do neither if you understand them. All they do is create a poised and neutral car that enables you to still feel exactly where your grip levels are at each corner leaving you to balance the car through an apex using conventional throttle and steering controls

will have to try one one day, dont get me wrong i love the looks of the evo and tbh if i had the money and didnt have to cart the dogs around i would probably have an evo 6, drove a gtr on track day last year and have to say it was a bit strange feeling the car twitching away under you but what an awesome car.

I just bought an FQ 300 and I have to say.. I LOVE IT!! lot more low down power compare to the 2.0 sti on a newage and drive and power delivere is soso smooth. Handling is just something else!! Still prefer the sti 6 speed and sound tho...

The statement that always makes me laugh is "The evo does everything for you" which is total rubbish.
Ive just got back from taking a guy out for a test drive in my Evo, with a view of him buying it. He has never been in any Evo before and asked about the AYC....so i showed him whilst attacking a roundabout, damp road also....He couldnt believe the grip and mentioned that if he tried that in his bug sti it would if spat him across the road.
Having also owned a bug sti, i couldnt agree more.

I'm on my second STI (04 previous and 05 now) but I've always fancied a Grey Evo 8 MR. Was originally saving for one but got made redundant which halted my plans (not to say im unhappy with my 05!)
