This is Autocar's top five cars of all time.

I could probably have 10 top 5's

But apart from the e-type I agree with what they say.

 

I am biased of course

I probably agree about the E-type - gorgeous, yes. More important than a Muira? Probably not.

I would also consider a 4WD car - probably the grandaddy - Audi Quattro - their last great car

 

what, they didn't include a 5 series soot chucker did they

McLaren F1, Lamborghini Countach, Sierra Cosworth, Escort Cosworth, 911 Turbo.

I love how people preface offensive comments with 'no offense'

 

Do they have to be fast?
What about great cars like the Defender and Range Rover (which admittedly can be fast)?
Or useful everlasting workhorses like the estate W123 Mercs?
Another list of "supercars" makes my eyes glaze over.

Yeah right, like you didn't expect to have some abuse after showing off your new car and then showing everyone that your new is also in the top 5 cars ever list in some magazine.

Come on, learn to take it.
Everyone knows the RS is a great car already.

 

Yeah, Know what you mean, I kind of like to limit it to stuff I may actually have some chance of owning someday or have actually driven !

Its funny, technically I could get something of that ilk but telling the missus and then sheepishly returning it to the dealers would be so embarassing

 

They do have what is probably THE most important car of the last century in that list.

It is simple, inexpensive, brilliant to drive, and British!
