Need to get one for around that price. Peugot seem good. But would like some help. What are good diesel estates for that money?? And what should I look out for??

Can't go far wrong with a 405GRDT (or whatever it is )
My mate had one for years as a daily hack, never let him down, just a bit rattly inside.

I'd agreed with Peugeot - they make most of the older diesel engines anyway, so they can't be all bad. My previous car was a 406 1.9TD Exec that had 140,000 miles on it. Bodywork was solid, engine sweet as a nut and they only gave me £2300 trade-in

Go for a lower-spec model and you shouldn't have any problems getting a 405/406 for 2 grand

Bit above budget but I bought a MY1998 Citroen Xsara 1.9D estate last year as a second car.Car is absolutely as new with full dealer history for £3400.Fully loaded too.I plan to keep it for 3 years and will still be worth something as good cheap diesel estates always are.Worth a thought...
