Is either one better for your engine, I favour an oil change every year as i believe clean oil equals healthy engine.

Personally, I still change the oil and filter on my cars every 6 months. I run my work cars into the scrapyard. My Vectra is nearing 190000 miles (150 CDTi) without issue, engine wise. My previous work shed was a Passat that went on to about 220000, again, changing the oil every 6 months. I think it does make a difference when you want to get big miles out of a car.

A guy in work has a S60 well over 300000 miles using the 6 month method.
