Default Clio 200 has arrived!

I realise it's not a Porsche or BMW, so probably doesn't hold much interest in here, but I like it anyway!

I hold alot of respect for the Clio sports and always have mate, they have a much more linear power delivery compared to the likes of Peugeot gti 180 etc with alot more torque down low so you don't need to rev the ***** off the engine for the power.

Looks good. I can hardly be a snob, my car is a Reno underneath, but it hasn't broken yet.

Gay.

Not really! Looks great. Did you take that photo? If you did you should be a pro photographer. Unless you are already one?

Thanks for the compliments guys - even Matteeboy!

I'm not a pro photographer, just know how to do overblown in Photoshop!

Did take a pic with the scrap in as well, dpb. I was speaking to the crane driver, who had a very cute Jack Russell pup with him.

Looks fabulous *

The only Renault I have ever driven is a Clio Cup car at Palmersport - what a hoot! Like a Playstation game. Enjoy

* It even has a sticker like the GT3 RS in front of the rear wheels

That sticker is the closest I'll ever get to owning a GT3!

I'm not a fan of the new front end of the Clio. Look like a Frog.

Did you not consider the Recaro seats?

Hope yours is better built than the Clio 172 MKII I owned. Biggest pile of cr@p I've every owned. Was glad to get rid.

Hope you enjoy yours though.

I know what you mean about the front end - it's kind of grown on me though.

As for Recaros, I don't think they are £800 better than the standard ones, which seem to be excellent. I've had Recaros in other cars and, whilst I like them, I wasn't that bothered. The same goes for the Cup chassis, which seems to be another must have - I would personally only have ordered it if I was going to take it on the track on a regular basis - the standard set-up seems perfect for the poor road surfaces we are stuck with these days.

Build quality seems fine, although some of the fixtures and fittings are a bit on the cheap side - that's what I expected in a French car - and I also owned a couple of 5 GTTs in the late 80s, so this seems luxurious by comparison. It does have a similar feel to the handling though, which is no bad thing.

You could buy a new GT2 RS and still get negative comments on here...

It must seem huge compared with the R5 gt turbo! I had a Clio williams which was bigger than the 5 but these latest cars are hugeee!

Enjoy.

Nice looking car mate, had a 172 up till a couple of months ago, went like stink and handled really well, like the look of the new ones, I agree with you on the recaros , just look at the quality of any eve front seats compared to scoob sti seats, take the scoob seats every time my 94 sti front seats are in better nick than any eve I've ever seen including recent ones.

Is your car white or grey? I went for the storm grey

I agree about the recaro's, they look nice (well apart from the crappy yellow tinge) but are not worth £1000 when the standard seats are more comfortable. Let me know if you are looking for an exhaust as i have just put mine back to the standard one because it was too loud. Did you buy from Richard and CDG cars?

Storm grey is a great colour for it, really highlights the shape.

Recaros are indeed an expensive option, great for the track though.
