Default Half Decent Diesel for £3k?

My lass has a 51 plate Mini One, and to be honest I'm bored off it so want her to get a new car.

To save money with fuel etc I fancy a diesel. Something Mini size, and have ok boot space when the seats are folded down etc.

Any suggestions? (Something mini size)

Focus 1.6 TDCI. Not very exciting but does what it says on the tin. Good all round handling, brakes are good, steering feel is perhaps a little dull but cheap to run and maintain + has reasoable amount of space inside.

Will not find a new shape one at £3k though. Well, may be a very tired example.

Ford mondeo tdci, 3k should get you a 115, you may even get a 130 for that sort of cash

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I will have a look at them all. Got to persuade the missus to change as well, lol.

I do like the new Ibiza TDi's, but they will be out the price range I think.

Not o2-03 plate. These age cars right on the money.

Exactly, we own a 57 plate 100bhp tdi ibiza, ok I gave £6k for it, but older cars are well within your price range.
