Mondeo ST 220 V6 Service
Son in law is away doing his bit in Afghanistan and his car is due a service. The cars is a fantastic runner, tad thirsty but lovely noise and specced to the hilt.
So, not being a Ford man, on behalf of my daughter I have a few questions?
It's the V6 3.0l.
It's on an 06 Plate.
Only done 29K.
I have been quoted £180 for a full service by an independent with a good reputation but they aren't sure about the schedule and if the plugs need doing.
Anyone shed any light?
What spec plugs are they? (I'll get some myself and take them along if needed, similarly with the oil)
Anything else we need to keep an eye on?
Ta

It should say in the manual which services are due when. The mileage is low and won't generally require a big service (inc plug change) however, it may be due a big service on account of the total time passed.
I'd look up my book but it's in the car and it's cold outside
FWIW, I put mines in for a service at a main dealer at 44,000 (May 09) miles and requested a 'big' service even though it wasn't due it. I wanted the plugs changed and got them to service the air-con, etc as well. It cost £500 but the car drove like new afterwards and I had the piece of mind that everything was tip-top and that it shouldn't need any big expense for quite some time.

go to http://www.etis.ford.com/ and click on vehicle at top-enter reg , then on that site you can generate a service schedule for your car plus see things like what options etc it came with from factory, when it was made, first registered etc
