Audi TT Coupe?
Let the hairdresser jokes commence
My 2yr personal lease on an Honda CTR (FN2 GT) is coming to an end in 3 months. Im yet to see what Honda will offer me to carry on leasing for another year or on a new FN2. But one of the main reasons I went down the leasing route was to try a few different cars without taking the huge depreciation hit of buying new.
Ive been looking around and there isnt much thats hot and around the same price p/m (£270 inc vat). Only thing I can find is the TT Coupe 2.0 TFSI. Must admit I do like the mk2 shape especially in TTS guise (out of my price range) and Ive seen lease prices only £35 p/m more than the FN2 (not bad for another £7-8k cost as new).
I realise they are chalk and cheese but with 211ps and 157nm more torque than the Honda it seems a good match in a straight line. TT I would imagine less agile and much less practical but mrs has a practical 4x4 so not so much of an issue.
Anyone real life experiences would be good. Will arrange a test drive soon.
Cheers
Simon

The only TT I'd get is a MK2 3.2. Its more medallion man than ghey...I can live with that
Although that is only because they've stopped making the R32 so I have little choice to move on to. I Would make do with a 5pot 2.5 TTRS if it was the right price, so long it has the Recaro uprated sports seats option (currently they are far far too much money: Second hand MK2 3.2 is the better value buy).
2.0TFSi? Nah, plain ghey. Just remember though, its only one notch up from the Golf MK5/MK6 GTi which is just pure Kenneth Williams camp (all talk, no drive - its FWD you see).

The Mk1 was the hairdressers car, the mk2 is much better, much more manly
24mth lease on TT = £334.95pm excluding VAT, £401.94pm including VAT.
http://www.nationwidevehiclecontract...pe-leasing.htm
This is for a basic bog standard poverty spec car though. If you're getting a 'lesser' TT model then it at least needs to be in S-Line spec (£399.95 excl VAT / £479.94 inc VAT)
I think you would still want to add a few options in there like metallic paint, cruise etc so the price soon rises. Where are you finding these for £270pm? I assume excluding VAT? Registered business user?
Buying base or poverty spec I dont think suits the car, 17'' wheels on a sports coupe in 2011
They are good cars, build quality and interior being the best in the business, the 211ps car offers good performance with exceptional fuel economy (43mpg) but It's a FWD car though unless you spec S-Tronic Quattro. If you can squeeze to the TTS, do so, these cars really need Quattro

Yeah, that one may be a little too much against the grain for some people to handle LOL . Especially when all the motoring press raves so much about the things, yet I found the MK5/MK6 GTi really aren't what they cracked up to be, nor its FWD cousins (Scirocco R/Cupra R etc).
Maybe the roads round here are just simply too damp for me to compromise?

disagree. always liked the TT and the new one looks even nicer.
Friend had a boxster, she loved it, but it is a bit girly and its always going to be a case of it "not being a 911". but clearly a staggeringly good car.
I think some of the folding roof, nissans, 206's, mitusbishi's (sp ?), ford ka, mini cab's take the ghey biscuit well before a TT comes into range.
to be honest some people in warriers/rangers/hi-lux's- dripping in stickers, roof bars, kangaroo lights etc really look they spend their time parked outside the blue oyster bar all night long.
mind you I think leasing cars is a mental thing to do to: dead dead money.

If he really isn't gay I bet he gets a lot of stick
Could it be because it is a forum for driver's cars?

I thought leasing was bad but you can get some good deals. If you plan to keep a car long term then makes no sense but if you want to get a new car and be able to swap regularly then it can make more sense. It did for me when I sat down and worked out the figures.
