SEAT Ibiza TDi

SEAT Ibiza TDi
I've been debating getting a cheap car as i'm only using it to work and back and i've been looking at the ibiza 1.9TDi FR which looks sportyish and is cheap.
Looking at the internet sales places a new shape 1.6TDi isn't a bad price, ok it's a couple of K dearer but for a <1 year old car £9.5 seems ok?
The figures show the 0-60 at 10.1 which isn't fast but a remap in the future would help a bit, the mpg looks good at upto 65mpg, insurance is cheap and i've heard tax is £30 a year?
Has anyone had/ driven 1 of these new shape models and could give some feedback?
Cheers

A guy a couple of doors up from me had one for 6 months and gave it back reason being was he averaged less than 45mpg as he had to work it so hard to get it moving. Not a bad figure on petrol but 20mpg less than he was promised by the dealer

Cheers Gary, i've just been browsing the seat forums and a few people have mentioned 45 - 50mpg instead of the quoted 65mpg
Apparently there's a software update just out (for fabias as well) that's supposed to bring the average upto 55-60mpg

I have a Leon TDI, my experience is that the car doesn't really get going in first gear so that will distort the 0-60 time, once in second gear the turbo really kicks in and it flies, mine is the 2 litre TDI and i average 42mpg but I do like to get a move on!
A friend of mine says the same about his Skoda Fabia VRS and the first gear.

Cheers James. I've had 2 A3 TDI140s (both standard) which averaged 49mpg on my work commute which was good.
A few years ago i had a Fabia VRS remapped by jabbasport to around 170bhp/ 330lb/ft (their generic figures), this would average 50mpg and was a real flier
I can't decide on the older shape TDi FR or pay an extra £2k and get the new shape 1.6TDi CR, it depends on how better the engine is on the new model.
I did have a new A3 TDi 170bhp for a week as a loan car and that was the new CR model and what a difference compared to my older version, the CR was so quiet and smooth, just hope the Ibiza is as refined?
