Golf: Wheel trims on steel wheels
I have put 16" steel wheels and winter tyres on the Golf GTI (Mk V). A welcome increase in stability and ride comfort from the 18" alloys.
In terms of finding wheel trims, are there different shapes that will cover the studs better than others, or clip in well? Don't really want to use cable ties that can be seen.

I believe they are all standard fitment, unless vw do some specific ones??
If they are only for winter just use clear cable ties. Not the sexiest of fastenings but come, they are wheel trims!

Price/hassle over style. Steelies and winters just over £500 delivered, balanced, valves. Winters and decent used alloys £800 with a load more faffing about.
At least the wife will get to work now in it, for 3 out of 4 weeks the Golf on 18s and summer tyres wasn't going anywhere. In an inch of snow on the hills around here it gets stuck. Tried snow socks and they work great, but are tricky to fit with the space between the tyre and the arches and it is difficult to find somewhere safe to stop before the main road.
