E36 M3 Soft top
Been looking at these lately. You can pick up a 3.2 evo cabriolet for around 4-5 K. Now that seems mega cheap for a lot of car. It will be just for a bit of summer fun. Anyone own one, if so anything to look out for when buying one? and are they any good.
If you're gonna get one, get the coupe rather than the 'vert as it's a lot lighter. The vert is not that quick as a result.
The main thing with these is the Vanos unit as they are prone to failure and can be a heck of a bill. However, there are some people around nowadays who can fix them far cheaper.
At the price they are now, many will have fallen into the hands of those without the budget to look after them so I would advise looking at a few to get a feel of what one should drive like. In fairness, they're reliable on the whole and are a hell of a lot of car for the money they're commanding now.
