Vauxhall VX220 Turbo
Has anyone owned or driven one? How does it compare with say an Elise S2, or S2000?
Worth looking at as a fun second car?
I know very little about them, other than Clarkson running out of petrol in on TG

Posed a similar question a while back: https://www.scoobynet.com/other-marq...220-turbo.html
Didn't buy one, spent all my money doing up my house instead, but when the coffers have recovered....... maybe?

Had VX220 tubo for about 6 months. Fantastic car IMO, every so slightly less raw than the Elise, but much faster. Mine was a stage 2 and went very well. But for me it was a little hard to live with day to day. And can handle the lack of creature comforts, it was more so because of doing short journeys and the effort getting in and out.
Its not a car just to pop down to your shops in - Its a car to get in and have a drive jsut for the fun of it.
And my current ride is a S2000 and much prefer it. The power delivery it totally different and doesn't feel as quick, but thats more than made up by the fact you can drive it all year round, just jump in and out of it, hood drops in 6 secs, and when you do want to really drive it, get it on Vtec and it proper shifts. Handling and feedback is still pin sharp on the S2000
Could go on all day, but unless the VX is a 2nd/third car I would say S0000. If I have the choice of the 2 today of similar age and value I would pick the S2000
