Was out driving in the Scoob last night when I spotted an F50 in my rear view mirror! Turned onto a dual carriageway and sat at a steady 60, hoping he'd go past. He did!!! These things sound amazing! Can't believe how wide they are too. It only just seemed to fit in one lane of the dual carriageway!

Anyone know anything about them?

I had one take off past me on the M56 last Friday at the Airport exit, he pulled on at about 50mph and then let it have it, oh my god what a sound and the way it went was unbelievable.

And if you decide that after a while its not quick enough you can take it to Koenig and they will put a supercharger on it for you!

Saw two parked nose to nose outside a pizza restaurant on the Kings Road a few years back. One Red, one Yellow. There were two Bentley Continental convertibles close by too. Obviously these guys had pushed themselves a bit to far on the never-never and had to start economising on food!

Disregarding the engineering excellence of the car, don't you think that it is a teensy bit 'wide' if you get my drift. I'd take an F40 or 288GTO any day.

In fact, I think Ferrari are losing it big time in the image department. Schumi has done a good job but F1 is all a bit too serious and professional these days and there is not so much glamour or fun. [I am 'only' 32 and went to my first race (Monza) in '90.]

The proposed IPO and Ferrari Theme Parks are just too much.

It must surely now be as easy to 'hate' Ferrari as it is to 'hate' Man-U?

Back to the cars for a moment....The spy pictures of the F60 are not exactly pretty are they? The 360M is not as pretty as the F355 to my eyes and if I see another crappy 'official merchandise' outlet selling mugs, t-shirts and aftershave.....

I drove an F355 for a few laps at Snetterton and it was the most satisfying driving 'experience' of my life so far. I'd still love one of those but at this years Geneva Motor show, there were not many people clambering to get a closer look at the current models as I recall from years gone by.

Rant over!

Touchy!

PS. No offense intended. I know a great deal less about football than Ferraris and my home town of Aberdeen...well the less said about that team post-Fergie the better!

Only 349 F50's produced & the carbon monoquce shell cost a coll £150,000 each. In the early stages 2 out of 3 shelss were disgarded.

The final engine was based on Alain Prosts winning car.........

When the 360 was launched I thought it was a pig compared to the 355, but seeing them side-by-side, I prefer the 360 - looks cleaner, not 'pretty' like ferrari should look, but still beautiful (although front made too high my 'skinny' front tyres. And side-by-side the 355 just looked dated. 456 is the 'prettiest' current ferrari in my mind - hence why it has outlasted all others and still sells more and more each year!

Beyond the looks though, drive the 355 and 360 and you will suddenly forget any feeling of looks. The 355 drives beautifully, and is a massice leap up from the 348, but the 360 is an even bigger leap from the 355. So balanced, so 'lithe' - trully the best car to drive I have ever sat behind the wheel of (except a 2 minute stinit in an F40 - but never got above 50mph).

All ferrari V12's sound beautiful (hell all ferrari engines sound beautiful!) but the F50 is a class above. I saw/heard a de-silenced sports exhaust'd F50 at a 103db Donington park track day years ago - incredible noise. Beautiful car. One day....

Yep 456 is my fave too Gary. Remember seeing Gerhard Berger pulling donuts in his after an F1 drivers bash. Jean Alesi hanging out of the passenger seat

Jacko I let him off mate, didn’t want to steel his thunder by wasting him in the Bora !!!! (LOL)

RANT ON !!!!!!!!!!!

Hate them like Man United, typical comment from a no brain who manages to compare Man United and their supporters to a motoring subject, nice one.

What’s up, having a bad season with who ever you support or are you just jealous of Man United, as you are the owners of Ferraris ???

RANT OFF !!!!!!!!!!!

Daz.

P.S: Yes the 355 is one of the best ferraris of all time.

Cool

Saw an F50 at a track day I did @ castle coombe last year. It had the standard exhaust on and still smashed the 100db limit by 40 db!!!
They guy who owned it said and I quote:
"you should see it when its donutting, it lays inch thick rubber onto the tarmac"
good effort!
astraboy.
