Anyway, we've all heard of the 4x4 transmission weakness in the Calibra/Cavalier 4x4 system? Nope, well you have now - 4x4 Calibra's are liabilities - think along the lines of £2,000 in parts before a lot of labour, and you get the picture.

Think along the lines of "you obviously have no idea what you are talking about" gravedigger.
Weak 4x4 ?? Ok its had its dramas but most of this was due to unforseen problems the transfer box would have and also lack of owner knowledge..... No 3 bearing on the Scooby turbo ?? Anyone remember the problems with this due to in-experience or lack of knowledge and poor design ?? Its plastered all over the early parts of this board as is the seemingly constant piston slap problems at the time
Now, due to greater owner knowledge and mechanical backup from specialists, these problems (the Vauxhall Transfer box and the no3 Bearing etc) dont crop up as much because simple maintenance can stop it happening. In fact you can get these transfer boxes uprated to cope with lots more power and even have it as a fixed split to anything you want (50:50, 60:40 etc etc)
And these uprated boxes are £1600 total...... You obviously like being ripped off
I aint gonna sit here and profess to know all the problems about the Imprezas mentioned above as I dont. I just know there were LARGE discussions in the Subaru ranks here about them so why do you think you can sit there and comment on the Vauxhall transfer box which is probably something you have no idea about ??
Any more belly rumbles ??

OK I am going to lock this one as it serves no purpose at all.
Oh by the way I use to own a 4x4 Cavalier many many moons ago myself and er guess what! I never had any problems with its transfer box Must be something to do with bad servicing or lack of!
