Default New Driver Insurance?

Hi all,

Been a biker for 2 years, got two years no claims.

Im 19 and have just passed my car test.

but now its time to purchase a little **** tip for the winter days.

Been looking at 90's Corsa B's 1.2 Ls or Merit.

Had quotes on a few cars but these corsa's seem cheapest.

If you can call it cheap... £2,378 fully comp.

Can someone please oh please tell me how to get this cheaper!

The cars only £400-£500

Any help is appreciated

Cheers
Perry

The usual stuff I suppose. Pass Plus, Raise your Excess, Limited mileage policy, add an older experienced driver (not as main driver). Is there any discount you can carry over from your bike insurer?

To give you a for instance Moo. I only passed my driving test at 22 and my first car was/is an Alfa Romeo 147 1.6twinspark 120version and my insurance with them came to around £1400. Everywhere else were looking 2k and above ffs.

My renewal with 1NCB came to £850, this year with 2NCB it is £900 but thats still at least £300 cheaper than anywhere else.

Ill deffo try quinn as ive heard other friends have used them also.

A tracker! fair enough hah.

the only time id be driving that late would be if i had some serious insomnia.

Corsa came out cheapest for me though.

tried a 1.3 EK Civic and it came out 6K
and a 1.6 LX subaru impreza was 6K.

i know what id of gone for lol

churchill or tesco insruance alloy you to use your motorcycle no claims on a car policy, as long as you are not using them on bike policy at the same time, i did this when i got my first car, saved me a fortune, maybe worth thinking about?
