"The US vendor doesn't actually realise what he's got. It's Number 27 of only 200 "8221" Turbo 2 Evolution Group B Homologation examples built by Alpine in early 1985 to allow the awesome Maxi 5 Turbo to go rallying. Although they aren't any faster or more powerful, they do have some bespoke parts and a slightly larger longer stroke engine (1423cc compared to 1397cc) than a regular "8220" Turbo 2. And obviously it's rarer than a regular one. In total they made 1820 Turbo 1's and 3167 Turbo 2's of which only 200 were "8221" models.
This one's a bit spoiled by the funny headlights and seats, but is clearly in excellent condition, so worth the money."
