Yes it's a Lotus Omega (LHD Carlton) that's covered just 9377 kilometres (about 5800 miles) from new! Although manufactured in 1991, it spent the first 6 years in an Opel showroom in Germany and was only first registered in 1997 (hence "R" plate) and imported by a UK collector (last owner), who just used it for the odd show. I'd always wanted one and couldn't stop myself when I saw this! Not cheap of course with that mileage and a BIG service included, but as near to a brand new car as you can get. It is widely believed to be probably the lowest mileage Lotus Carlton/Omega in the world. I've only had her less than a day and not opened her up yet, but she feels so tight and solid.
There's a nice write up on them here:
PH Heroes: Lotus Carlton
As some of you know, I have a bit of history of owning nice old cars (22B, JDM WRX Bugeye, Integrale 16v and Renault 5 Turbo 2) and I hope this one will hang around a bit in my garage. With 4 doors, 0 - 100mph in 11 seconds and near 180mph top speed, it's also ideal family motoring!

The Ad should probably state "PS" (Pferdestärke). That's always a little more than our BHP.
Eg:
22B: 276bhp or 280PS
JDM Bug WRX: 247bhp or 250PS

I really couldn't enjoy a car like that, i'd be too scared for driving it and of stone chipping the front or some idiot driving into me. Such a lovely motor, pure jealous i am!

I was lucky enough to work at a vauxhall main dealer that serviced lotus carlton's back in the late 90's, the one mechanic who was trained to work on them had a ride in list on his box for members of staff to have a ride in with him when road testing (pretty poor if it's your car!) Anyway my time came round and we went for a spirited play on a nice empty motorway, OMG these things are just silly fast in standard form it took my breath away, the bl**dy thing fish tailed changing from 5 to 6th!
Fantasic cars you lucky man!
Enjoy it!
PS are you starting a ride in list?
