What to buy with 13k?
My last few cars have been a classic STI Type R import, then a Civic Type R followed by my most recent blobeye UK STI scoob, which I have recently sold a couple of months ago for something more comfy (scoob had several mods one of which was the rather harsh Tein suspension).
I was going to get a e46 330 M Sport but have more recently been looking at the Audi A3 T FSI S Line's. I have gone more to the A3 now because for the same money I can get a newer A3 (2006) with far less miles where as the BMW would be around 2003/2004 with about 60k+ on it.
There are not many of the A3's about at the mo so started thinking what else could I consider........ but there isn't really much else that takes my fancy (Well not for 13k).
Anyone got any suggestions on other cars I could also consider? As I say, budget is about 13k, needs to be about 2005 +, less that 60k miles and reasonably comfy but has a bit of go to it.
I only do about 7k miles a year so it doesn't have to be an oil burner.

What about a Vauxhall Monaro?? Lovely car and a nice big V8 engine with plenty of power
They can be picked up relatively cheaply nowadays too...slam on a nice exhasut system and a set of coilovers and your sorted, but maybe not the sort of car you're after though comming from a nimble sti??
Take this one and remove the graphics and you have a nice car with AP brakes and upgraded suspension
Vauxhall : Vauxhall Monaro CV8

I think you would soon get bored of an A3 looking at your car history. Have you considered an M3 E46? Will be slightly older than the year you are after, but plenty to keep you entertained.

13k would get you a decent Evo 8 MR. But by the looks of things, he is trying to get away from these sort of cars for something a bit more comfy.
Have you thought about a Bmw X5, or maybe a Range Rover, A lot of car for the money, sure ive seen 52 reg Range Rovers around your budget!!

I was also considering a e46 M3 but as nice as they are I think i would crap myself if something went wrong with it.
For my budget I would probably have to get either a 2003 or possibly 2004 but then I would be looking at one with 60k+ miles on it. I enquired about servicing........ the cheapest service was over £600!!!!!! and a inspection II service was £800 plus!! thats just madness. Then if something went wrong I would probably be looking at thousands! Plus the seats dont seem to wear too well in the ones I have seen so makes things look a bit tatty.
Evo - did look but as already mentioned, bit to 'harsh' for me now I think.
Golf GTi - A mate of mine has just got one of these actually, dont seem too bad. Haven't been out in it yet. Mind you, I have recently brought a house round the corner from him so not so sure I should get the same car as him too, might seem a bit suspect! lol

12k should put you in a mint, late(02/03), low miles example - much more desirable and rare than an M3 - IMHO

stand out from the crowd - in a good way
