Whats Civic Type R's or VTec like??

I had a Civic Vti 1.6 before getting the RB5 in 99. Superbly put together, never had a rattle or squeak. The handling was a bit on the soft side, if you were on the power it was OK but nothing stunning. The engine was a gem and the sound as the VTEC cut in was lovely. Ultimately I got tired of the lack of bottom end grunt and high revs at motorway speeds plus it was all a bit anonymous!
Since having the scoob, I have never enjoyed owning a car so much.

Spooky but i also had the Civic VTI before getting an RB5 (Hi Marin)
They are powerful little cars - achieveing something like 165 bhp out of a 1.6 naturally aspirated engine - well done Honda.
same issues - had to rev really hard to get the car to shift, as a result mpg drops and the servicing was not that cheap really for a 1.6.
changed to a scooby and the grin nevers stops

My mates got a Vti also. Has to get to 6000rpm before it starts to pull hard. Vtec Sounds good, but have to get on the Scooby high horse and say blablablabla impreza rules....
I'm advising him to either get a scoob, or a Integra Type R. Saw an Integra TP going for less than 10K the other day. Tempting.
