I'm toying with the idea of buying an old car as something fun and a bit different to the Impreza...

Current thoughts are as follows...

Capri - ideally a MkII 3.0 litre
Cortina - Autotrader have a nice 1600E :-)

What would you get and why?

Does anyone know of a good place, preferably with a website, that sell old motors?

ta,
Matt

Is that the Cortina off the adver, the one that gets an Affro ?

Like the Granada, My dad briefly had the 3.0 Ghia Coupe which was well cool.

How about a Vauxhall Magnum 2.3 Coupe (Firenza style) in orange, my uncle had a tuned one, quicker than a BMW 325i during the mid 80,s

How about a Purple Marina TC. What a pile of Sh*t that was.

It has to be a Mk1 or Mk2 Escort RS2000 or a Lotus Sunbeam, you can still buy tuning parts of the shelf and they are rear wheel drive.

Cool

Has to be the Capri - get a turbo technics 280 brooklands. 0-60 in 6.2 seconds 150 flat out. Reliable (turbo was factory option) looks the business and is entertaining to drive. Remember in its day all the press raved about the 2.8 and 3.0 Capris like they do the Evo cars now. V8 engined Perona Mark 1 Capri is also pretty cool with the 289 mustang lump in it.

Approve of Granny Coupe, original Manta and others though.

If you want a decent Granny coupe I know someone who has about half a dozen and is looking to sell some of them email me and I'll put you in touch.
