Default Ferrari 430 exhaust advice - for a friend!

A firend of mine has just bought a 430 (Yes - Lucky bastrd!) - and wants to change the exhaust as it's apparantly dreadful at idle and low revs. He's considering a Tubi exhaust for £2,500 plus vat and fitting - can anyone offer some (ideally first hand!!!) advice/opinions on this and any other options? He's been ripped off in the past - and Ferrari's aren't my strong point (!) - so greatful for some advice re the above!

Many thanks...!

I love Scoobynet - been on here for 6 years or so - and it still makes me chuckkle!

So - Just out of interest - how much are the Peco exhausts - and are they mandrel bent?

Next suggestion please!

I doubt many people on here have owned a 430........but there are a couple of Ferrari owners on here..............

I'd definitely ask your question on a Ferrari forum though for the best advice

TBH who gives a **** how their car sounds at idle?

Ferrari's sound best when reaching for the red line.

Tell him to drive it, rather than stood next to it at idle.

Indeed. My neighbour has a 360 and it sounds rattly and tinny at cold idle, as he says who cares...

These things give out over 100 BHP/litre naturally aspirated with cats. The exhaust isn't **** by any means, however its not designed to inpress mates in the garage, blip blip

I put a Tubi on my 360, sounded great. The other most common Ferrari exhaust is a Capristo. Think they are quite similar. Can't go wrong with a Tubi. Tell him to speak to Manu at Scuderia Systems, might do a bit better on the price although £2500 sounds about right.

Thanks for the above - that's exactly who he's dealing with!

Manu is a good guy, won't rip him off. Tell him to go for a Tubi! I think they have a better association with Ferrari that Capritso and personally I think they sound better. Also maybe tell him there are 3 "loudness" levels. Middle one is probably the best. Lowest one too similar to stock and highest too loud.

peco £100 all in is what you want for sure.

Fitted a Capristo to my friends 355 a few months back, looks good sounds better. He got it second hand from his local Fezza dealer; Eurospares. be warned though, anything over a stage 1 is really LOUD

I had Tubi's on the 550.

Sounded awesome on short journeys, but really gets on your nerves if you have to 'travel' anywhere in the car for more than about twenty minutes.

Have a look at www.ferrarichat.com and ask over.
Tubi always seems the favourite but it was 5 years ago when I was looking...
That Manu chap was a name I remember as being trusted too.

What about a cherry bomb?

It would match the colour of the car (almost)

Do they even sell cherry bombs now??

Agreed, the Capristo is much better than the other options when the car is stationary. On the move it still has the edge on the Tubi. From the video that is...
