Default Is SAAB now gone?

I have read a few reports that GM are winding down the SAAB operations and production.

But, another report says Spyker or some Chinese firm may be in with a shout.

It's I was passing a SAAB dealers and it looked like business as normal

There is/was a report on the BBC F1 website that said Bernie was in talks to save them.

Don't know how true it is though.

He wont be able to see over the steering wheel.!!

shame if they do wind down, as they produce some great cars, and are well placed in the market (not common rep mobiles, but a bit more classy than an equivalent bog standard bm) imo.

plus if you bought one new, they would prob last you a lifetime

I think you dead right Dazza,

A friend of mine's Dad has a 9000 2.0T that he bought new some 12/13 years ago and its still going after 180,000 or so miles and it has only been in the garage once (apart from servicing) and that was for body work!!!!!

Not the best drivers cars by any means but if I was looking for something comfortable for purely motorway crusing then I would definately consider a SAAB.

We have one as a pool car. Its the 1.9TTid Aero sportswagon, its 180bhp & 400nm of torque.
I thinks its not bad & it cost us less than a similar insignia & mondeo of year & spec.
Greedy b*stard though but i suppose it gets driven hard when used.
